My Experience at SIFT
It was about four weeks ago that I came here to SIFT. I’ll admit I was pretty scared. It was a new place, with new people, and worst of all I had to room with two other girls that I had never meet before. The first week went by so slow; it was like you could feel the days going sluggishly. Then I believe it was the second or third day of the SIFT program, that I meet my new close friends, Katie and Pebbles. I was so excited to know that I was not going to spend the remainder of the program being by myself; luckily that was not the case. After that week the days just flew by.
Now we are at the end of the program in almost three more days. Sadly we will have to say our good buys but I will never forget the weeks I spent here. I remember during the first week we played name games and activities to get to know each other better. The second week we made our own Lesson plans to teach to our class and some students went to Sweeney Elementary School. Then the third week came and we presented our lesson plans to our classes and on Friday we had a party at Sweeney. Now it is our last week here. We will be going on a field trip tomorrow to Mark Twain’s House and then out to eat. Now we will we will be practicing our skits for a talent show that will be taking place the last day, Friday.
SIFT is now over and all I have to say is that I had the most amazing time here. My experiece here at SIFT has truely been an inspiraring advanture for me. That is right it has been an advernture! Who would have thought that here at ECSU, a program for aspiraring teachers, would not only do work but at the same time would go out to ice cream parlors or go to Golf Land and play golf and go on the go carts? Who would have thought that over here we will teach our own lesson plan and just have enjoyment during the summer playing games, excersizing and making our own website! I will always remember SIFT ‘07 and would be pleased to return for a SIFT 2 program next summer.
